Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures

An eighteen-month-long exhibition which opened in March 2023, Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures aimed to reimagine, reinterpret and reclaim the past and present for a more empowering and liberating future for African Americans.

Click Netherfield created 20 TESS Evolution showcases for this extremely important temporary exhibition which covered more than a century of Afrofuturist expression and its impact on American culture. Black identity, agency and freedom were celebrated and represented through art, creative works and activism covering more than 100 artefacts from music, film, TV, fashion, literature and more.

Since 2018, we have worked with various fabrication partners of the NMAAHC on six major exhibitions. By supplying bespoke parts for their Evolution cases, we have further expanded their range in showcasing a diverse array of objects. From taller glass panels to triple-wide frosted glass top frames, we have continuously partnered with NMAAHC to bring their exhibit designs to life.
